| posted 08-14-12 02:01 EST (US) 2 / 6 I re installed and just got the 1.31 patch and tried to play. Right away before the loading bar even it says update or play. If you click update it will update you to 1.41 and if you click play it will crash your game. I can't find a way around this. Its seeming like its impossible to play LAN at all anymore. I could try reinstalling it without a internet connection and see how that goes but i have a feeling it won't even let you play single player even unless you have internet https://softwarenation.mystrikingly.com/blog/mac-video-file-formats. | posted 09-30-12 06:57 EST (US) 5 / 6 It's a month and a half sinse I last replied in this thread but anyway, here is a more in-dept explanation: Stronghold 2 has a buildin auto-updater thereby making it easier for people to patch the game if they want to. Stronghold 2 single player does not require access to the internet. If players like to play over a LAN they need to have patch 1.3 installed. Patch 1.4 and 1.4.1 does not support LAN. Patch 1.4 and 1.4.1 fixes some compatibility issues on some computers running Vista. Patch 1.4 and 1.4.1 might also be needed on Windows 7, only way to find out is trial and error. Please note the game was made before Vista was released thereby making it impossible to test SH2 on Vista before release. Hence, later on patch 1.4 and 1.4.1 was relased to fix some issues that popped up on some Vista computers. In the end this means some people are forced to install patch 1.4 and 1.4.1 for being able to play the game but will not be able to play over a LAN.
